The Origin Story
"I couldn't find anything simple for what we needed in our business — a straightforward way to draw sections of sheet metal roofing flashings."
But it's more than that. We needed a tool to quickly create representations of how flashings work together as part of details — visual explanations for builders and architects showing how things connect and function.
We also wanted shapes we could easily reuse in other software like Excel, shapes that only need to be prepared once and can be used again and again. And for those who need to create logos or graphics, saving shapes as SVG with precise, editable geometry.
No other app I know of lets you draw with measurements visible and maintain precise, editable geometry for accurate placement.
XL2D was born from this need — a precision drawing tool that's actually simple to use.
