Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using XL2D ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Software.

XL2D is provided by Artisan Roofing Limited, a company registered in Scotland (Company No. SC252833), with registered office at Unit 1 Bankhead Workspace, Bankhead Terrace, Edinburgh, EH11 4DY ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

XL2D is a precision line and bend drawing tool designed primarily for creating technical drawings of sheet metal profiles and flashings. The Software is provided as a subscription service with optional free trial access.

The Software is currently in beta. This means features may be incomplete, change without notice, or contain bugs. We are actively developing and improving the Software based on user feedback.

3. Account and License

To use XL2D beyond the trial period, you must purchase a subscription license. Your license is personal and non-transferable. Each license permits installation on up to two (2) machines for your personal or business use.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your license key. You may not share, sell, sublicense, or distribute your license key to others.

4. Subscription and Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Pricing: Current pricing is displayed on our Pricing page. We reserve the right to change prices with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle.

Early Adopter Guarantee: Subscribers during the beta period are guaranteed their subscription rate for 12 months from their subscription start date.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal (linked in your confirmation email) or by contacting support@xl2d.art.

Upon cancellation, your license remains active until the end of your current billing period. After that, the Software will continue to function but with trial limitations (watermarked exports).

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. If you're unsatisfied within the first 14 days of your initial subscription, contact us to discuss a refund.

6. Free Trial

We offer a 7-day free trial that provides access to all features with watermarked exports. The trial is limited to one per machine. No payment information is required to start a trial.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Software
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
  • Use the Software for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any license restrictions or copy protection
  • Share, distribute, or sublicense your license key

8. Intellectual Property

XL2D and all related intellectual property rights are owned by Artisan Roofing Limited. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.

You retain all rights to any drawings, designs, or other content you create using the Software.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Given the beta status of the Software, you acknowledge that bugs and incomplete features may be present.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARTISAN ROOFING LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Artisan Roofing Limited and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Software or violation of these Terms.

12. Updates and Changes

We may update the Software from time to time with new features, bug fixes, or improvements. We may also modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or through the Software. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Software if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your license will be revoked and you must cease using the Software.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, though we reserve the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence if necessary to enforce these Terms.
